Snow was born in 1929 in Toronto. He
launched his career in 1956 with his first solo exhibition. For a decade he
lived in New York City, where his underground film "Wavelength"
became recognized as a work that altered the history of film. As a visual
artist, he works in many media, including drawing, painting, sculpture and
photography. Living in Toronto, he has created a reputation as a "framer
of vision" who, through his inventive and provocative work, has amazed and
astounded audiences for more than 50 years. He is an internationally renowned
visual artist, filmmaker and musician who received the prestigious Order of
Canada for his contribution to culture.
