will learn to make jewellery using a wide variety of hand tools,
including files, hammers, punches and supervised torch work for
enamelling. Students will be taught safety and an awareness of others as
as a respect for the value of metals. They will learn about
different manipulation techniques including how to bend, cut and hammer
the metal as well as connection methods such as riveting and jump
rings for their projects. All materials supplied.
Taylor has been a goldsmith jeweller for 40 years. Early in his career he
won several design competitions for DeBeers diamond mines. For 15 years he worked for renowned jewellery designer, Toni Cavelti.
Currently, Bryan teaches Art Metal/Jewellery and metal sculpture at
Argyle Secondary. He also teaches an adult silversmithing class, one
