Imagine spending a week immersed in the beauty of Brackendale, B.C., learning directly from a Canadian artist, while hiking, canoeing and enjoying campfire songs. That's the experience young artists have at our Summer Visual Arts Camp and Summer Visual Arts Intensive.
Our summer overnight camps for kids aged 8-18 runs July 9-14, 2017 at the Cheakamus Centre, near Squamish B.C.
Our Summer Visual Arts Camp is for students aged 8-12. Working with artist Aimée Henny Brown, campers will explore concepts of landscape and architecture while receiving in-depth instruction in collage, drawing, painting and printmaking. This week-long program is well balanced between studio time and outdoor recreation among other games and activities.
Our Summer Visual Arts Intensive is for students aged 13-18. These students will work with artist Andrea Taylor to explore drawing, painting and printmaking. Students will have five to seven hours a day of studio time, along with outdoor recreation opportunities. Students are encouraged to develop a body of work throughout the week that can be added to their personal portfolio.
The camps are fully supervised by professional teaching staff. The price of the Summer Visual Arts Camps is $695, and along with incomparable art education includes accommodation, meals, art supplies and transportation to the camp. Partial scholarships and bursaries are available.
Space is limited so register early to ensure your young artist experiences the joy of creativity amid the scenery of one of B.C.'s most stunning venues.
